Food & beverage

Odoo, shaped around how food and beverage runs.

Our practice covers industrial bakers, specialty ingredients, craft brewers, distillers and wine houses. Recipes, traceability and shelf life are configured deliberately from day one, so the platform holds when the auditor calls and when the order book doubles.

Industry knowledge

We understand food and beverage. That's why it works.

Bakeries, ingredients and chocolate manufacturers, breweries and wine businesses each run differently, but they share the same ERP reality. Recipes that vary by batch. Traceability that has to work the day you need it. Shelf life that drives picking. Audits that come around faster than the last upgrade. Odoo, configured for food and beverage, brings all of it onto one platform that grows with your business, not against it.

  • Recipes, shelf life and allergens on one platform.

Recipes that change with every delivery, short shelf life that drives picking, allergens to track across shared lines. Standard ERP wasn't built for any of it. Configured properly, Odoo runs the recipes, the FEFO and the planning on one platform, so production stops fighting the system.

  • Batch genealogy the inspector can trust.

A recall is a four-hour conversation, not a four-day one. Forward and backward batch genealogy belongs in the platform, not in a project you launch when the inspector arrives. Retailer audits and EU food-safety rules keep raising the bar, and Excel doesn't clear it anymore.

  • Excise, kegs and batch costing in one place.

Excise duty, bonded warehouse, returnable kegs and on-trade orders, on the same platform that runs production and finance. Commodity prices move weekly and so does your margin. Costing per batch shows you the answer the same week.

What we deliver

Deep expertise where it matters most.

Dynapps is the leading Odoo implementation partner. We bring the configuration depth that makes Odoo work in mid-sized food and beverage manufacturers: recipes with variants, batch genealogy that runs forward and backward, HACCP and allergen handling inside production orders, excise and bonded warehouse for alcohol, and EDI to the major retailers, all on top of standard Odoo. Your consultant configures these to the specifics of your subsegment, with earned experience from implementations across bakery, ingredients and beverages.

How we work together

A proven approach. Your dedicated team.

End-to-end Odoo solutions, from the first conversation to ongoing optimisation.

  • 01

    Discovery

We map your production, recipes, batch flows, shelf-life rules and the retailer requirements you work under. The output is a clear picture of which master-data gaps decide whether the implementation lands or stalls.

  • 02

    Configuration

We configure recipes with variants, FEFO and shelf-life logic, batch genealogy, HACCP forms and retailer EDI around how you actually run, then validate the setup with your production, quality and finance teams on real scenarios.

  • 03

    Go-live & training

We implement, migrate and go live with you, testing the platform against real recall drills, real shift hand-overs and real retailer order patterns. Your operators get training on the work they actually do.

  • 04

    Continuous improvement

We keep improving as you grow. New EDI partners, additional plants, new subsegment patterns as you expand. The platform evolves with the business, not in spite of it.

Using Odoo feels as intuitive as using a tablet. That ease of use makes a huge difference when you're going live in countries like Kenya or Korea with teams that have never worked with an ERP system before.

Industry challenges

Challenges we see most in food and beverage.

  • Replacing a legacy ERP

The system that built the business now holds it back. Common in growing food producers running Exact, EBP or a scheduler on top of spreadsheets.

  • Traceability and recall readiness

Forward and backward batch genealogy in hours, not days. Retailer audits and EU food-safety rules keep raising the bar. Surfaces across the whole sector.

  • Retailer and clean-label compliance

Private-label charters from major retailers, reformulation deadlines, label versioning per market. Hits ingredients suppliers and bakeries hardest.

Questions, answered

Everything you need to know about Odoo for food and beverage.

Can't find the answer you're looking for? Please reach out to us.

  • Yes. Odoo is well suited to the food and beverage industry because it puts production, traceability, quality, and finance on one platform. Recipe-based BOMs, lot tracking, shelf-life management, and HACCP-style quality checks are standard. Dynapps has run 50+ food and beverage implementations across Belgium, the Netherlands, France, and Switzerland.

  • Odoo manages food production through recipe-based bills of materials, multi-level BOMs for semi-finished products, and routings across mixing, cooking, and packaging work centers. Each manufacturing order tracks consumption, yield, and lot numbers in real time. Recipes can be scaled by batch size or finished-product weight, with by-products and co-products handled inside the same order.

  • Yes. Odoo supports lot and serial-number traceability end-to-end, with forward and backward genealogy from raw material to finished pallet. Best-before, use-by, and removal dates trigger FEFO stock allocation automatically. Recall queries return affected batches, customers, and quantities in minutes rather than hours.

  • Yes. Odoo supports HACCP-aligned quality controls through configurable quality points at receipt, in-process, and finished-goods stages. Critical control points trigger checks tied to manufacturing orders, with results stored against the batch. The same data feeds IFS Food, BRCGS, and FSSC 22000 audits without a separate quality system.

  • Odoo records lot and serial numbers at every movement: goods receipt, internal transfer, production consumption, finished-goods packing, and customer delivery. Batch genealogy works in both directions. The system traces forward from a single raw-material lot to every finished pallet, customer, and delivery date, and backward from a customer complaint to the supplier lot and every batch produced with it. A mock recall query that took half a day on legacy systems can return in minutes, depending on the quality of the underlying master data. The traceability data structure also feeds the quality module: HACCP critical control points, IFS Food and BRCGS audit evidence, and FSSC 22000 documentation all draw from the same lot records, so there is one source of truth and not two. Dynapps stays an Odoo implementation partner. Audit readiness is shaped into the implementation from day one, not bolted on afterwards.

  • Odoo manages shelf life through lot-level expiration data: production date, best-before date, use-by date, and removal date. Stock locations can be configured for ambient, chilled, and frozen storage, with picking strategies enforced per warehouse: FEFO (first-expired, first-out) is standard for food and beverage rather than FIFO. The system blocks dispatch of stock past its removal date and warns when remaining shelf life falls under a customer-specific threshold, which matters for retailers with contractual minimum-shelf-life requirements like 60% or 75% remaining. For short-shelf-life SKUs (fresh produce, dairy, chilled prepared foods) the daily picking list is recalculated against actual expiration data, not approximate FIFO. Dynapps brings the implementation discipline that decides whether this holds: master data for shelf-life rules per SKU, per customer, and per channel is set up before go-live, not after a complaint.
