Electronic Invoicing 2026: The Deadline Has Been Set. Are You Ready?

Effective September 1, 2026, all French companies must be able to receive electronic invoices.

Large companies and mid-sized companies (ETI in French) must also complete this transition by that same date; SMEs and micro-enterprises will follow in September 2027.

The schedule has been set, and now is the time to act.

The Cost of Noncompliance

Any failure to comply with these obligations will result in specific financial penalties: €50 per non-compliant invoice, €500 per electronic filing not submitted, and €1,000 per quarter of delay in filing on the platform.

But beyond the fines, it is your organization’s credibility that is at stake. Scattered records, manual data entry, and inflexible ERP systems: the risk of error is very real, and the stakes have never been higher.
